The Ambassador Hotel

Los Angeles, CA

The Cocoanut Grove was a nightclub at the famous Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles that was popular with Hollywood’s biggest stars. (Think Cary Grant, Katharine Hepburn, Jimmy Stewart, Joan Crawford, and Bette Davis! Think entertainers like Bing Crosby, Ella Fitzgerald, and Louis Armstrong!) The hotel opened on Wilshire Boulevard in 1921 and the Cocoanut Grove was soon after known as the most glamorous place-to-be in L.A.
